The National Board of Accounts and Auditors
(NBAA), has recognized the newly established pension regulatory body for having
the cleanest account books for the year 2012.
Social Security Regulatory Authority (SSRA), entrusted to oversee the public social security pension funds, has been successfully in fighting off stiff competition to the top in the prestigious NBAA’s annual best-presented accounts.
The NBAA award is the largest accounts award in Tanzania and is presented annually to various institutions and companies that have consistently maintained financial records.
SSRA scooped the highest NBAA honour for the Best Presented financial statements in regulatory bodies category.
"SSRA emerged the best in terms of presenting clean audited financial statement for 2012, outwitting other regulatory body," the NBAA said at weekend during the award giving ceremony in Arusha.
The SSRA edged out the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).
